As much as I enjoy fashion and styling clothing, I haven”t really given the utility style trend much of a in the summer chance until now. If you’ve been paying attention to any fashion blogs lately, you’ll know that Zara has been at the forefront of so many of the looks and recommendations we see all over the internet. Everywhere I turn, someone is talking about the Zara spring-summer collection. Have you purchased anything from Zara lately?
Eventually, I gave in to the pressure and decided to take a peek at the site. While I didn’t walk away with any purchases. Yet. I came across this skirt, and I immediately knew I had to include it in a style series here and on my youtube channel. This skirt reminded me of a similar one I own from years ago. It’s a faux leather midi skirt that lends itself to the very popular and ever-evolving utility style trend. This trend gets reinvented season after season and is always in style.
Most pieces in utilitarian collections are often cotton like this one from banana republic so it’s exciting to try the trend in a different fabric. I’ve always considered olive green a neutral, and the fact that it’s in faux leather makes even more versatile and fun to style. These styles will work just as well with traditional utility styles in cotton or even a pencil skirt in a neautral color.
The styling options on this one are endless. You can watch my youtube video here for all the styling tips and tricks. I’ve included ideas for both work and play. Hopefully, this gives some ideas on how you can style this particular Zara skirt or any similar items you may have.
